Aloha everyone,
I just wanted to say, "I'm back!" I guess you could call my lack of updating my website a mini leave of absence from cyberspace. While pregnant, I couldn't stand to be in front of the computer, and since the birth of beautiful Velzy, I've been putting off coming back to the computer=====until NOW! A big incentive for coming back to the computer is, thanks to all the hula girls, i received a new laptop! (everyone chipped in to buy me a baby gift, and with the money, I got a new laptop!!! So i have no excuse not to update the web!) Mahalo for this awesome gift! --I think!
Anyway, there are so many wonderful, exciting life changing things that have happened in the last year! I am going to slowly update you on the events, parties, happenings of Hulabootie. So bear with me, and if I update things that happened 9 months ago, you know why. I have to give you a peak of the most important happening of 2007. Baby Velzy!

Avvie's Metamorphoses
It was at moments like this where Avvie looked up in the sky and could see the rainbow she dances about. She could see the trees swaying---- just as she sways her arm to mimic the tree. Art reflects Nature.
アビが空を見上げると、虹が見え、風に揺れているやしの木があります。 そう!まさにアビがフラダンスでそれらのハワイの自然を手で表現するのと同じです。
Wherever we went, Avvie had the opportunity to dance.. She danced by the pool, at the Church, at the shave ice stand, at every resturant, in Kona, in Honolulu, iIn Boise, . . I could go on, and on about where she danced. All this dancing turned her into miss aloha!
アビはどこへ行ってもフラを踊っていました。プールサイド、教会、シェーブアイス屋、レストラン、、、etc。コナでもホノルルでもそしてボイジーでも。
Grandma, Aunty, Avvie
3 generations of beauty and all of the singers we could ask for!

Be A Hula Baby----Not a Baby Anymore!
Avvie loved going to Aunty Alva's house because Aunty always had new implements, costume and toys for Avvie to try out! This is one of Avvie's favorites!
2006: The Family
Just before returning home to Hawaii in June, Shane's grandfather passed. The service was beautiful. Uncle Herb sang, and Shane shared a memory of TutuMan.

Stitch
Avvie had her first taste of Disney on May 22nd. She loved it! There was a special parade for Lilo and Stitch along with hula dancers and hawaiian music. She was in awe of al the excitement.
Here we are: Marsha, Avvie, Hana, and Noriko
Manini Keiki
These are Avvie's classmates! Their first hula lesson. It was chaos but fun! There were 15 little ones running around, some were attentive, others gave me looks like, "What are you doing???" Every Wednesday from 2:00, we'll do hula.
Hawaiian Girl in Yochien
Does Avvie look happy to be in school? She's really enjoying school, and has made a lot of friends! I had a chance to visit her school for Mother's day. Can you imagine 20, 2 and 3 year olds at one time? Whoa! Next week, I will start teaching some of the Avvie's classmates hula! Hula is a good way to learn language. Setting a word to motion is a meaningful way to remember new things. I'll keep you posted!
