Put on White Satin Skirt to measure above the ankle. (you need some space for bending your knees and dancing.)
Wrap black top around bust. Start with your body in the middle of the material and wrap back and pull to the front. At top of your bust, pull material tight and tie two right knots-important point is to pull tight. Pull the material to cover your bust and tuck the extras in the back. Pull the bottom of the top over the satin skirt.
The white sash is to be tied any way you like, loosely to sit on your bootie. Wrap twice around waist to make a “belt-like” wrap. After you have tied your sash, position it below your top and over your satin skirt. The length of the hanging part of the sash should measure the same as satin skirt. The effect is to make our booties bigger!
Kukui Nut Choker (to be made together on Friday 9/7)
Hair:
Up in a bun at the back of your head-pull all your hair back, no fringes or bangs.
Crown positioned at the front center of your bun.

The process of our design. Auntie Alva and I quickly found a style and made a prototype dress the first week in Idaho. The top can be tied many ways to create a different look!
Private Lesson
Hiromi came over for a private lesson last week.
寛実が先週プライベートレッスンをしに来ました。
We danced Keali'i Reichel's "Ka Nohona Pili Kai." It's such a beautiful song! Hiromi's been so busy lately and can't come to regular lesson, so she's coming to the house. If anyone needs more practice, you are more than welcome to come to my house for a private lesson. BEWARE OF AVVIE'S TOYS---you could sprain and ankle!
