Nishimachi Food Fair 2007 西町インターナショナルスクールでのフードフェア2007
This year's food fair was fun fun fun! The weather was perfect! The sun was shining and the keiki dancers were so excited to dance in front of their peers. Most of the keiki's were veterans to the stage, but for a few it was their first time to perform on stage after having only a few lessons. Newcomer Kindergartener Claire said, "I was so nervous!"
今年のフードフェアはとても楽しいものになりました！天気にも恵まれ太陽のもとケイキがフラを踊り、とても素敵なフラを同級生に堂々と披露することができました。ほとんどのケイキは楽しそうにパフォーマンスをステージですることができました。しかし何人かはとても緊張していました。幼稚園生のチャーリーは『僕はすっごく緊張してたよ。』と感想を一言。
The crowd was attentive, and at the end of the performance, we invited all the keiki in the audience to join us and dance "Pearly Shells." We were so happy to see so many keiki on stage; Boys, girls, brothers, sisters, and friends shared their smiles with the crowd. Big mahalo to Joe sharing his wonderful talent chanting, playing uke and singing for us at the food fair!
観客に恵まれパフォーマンスの終わるころには見ていた子ども達もステージに招待し、“Pearly Shells”を披露しました。たくさんの子ども達がステージで楽しんでいる姿をみていて本当にうれしくなります。特別参加のジョーのチャンティングやウクレレ、歌に感動をした一日でした。
The following Monday at hula practice, the girls shared their feelings about the Food Fair. They drew their memories and the outcome was so interesting. Kindergarten girls' memory was so keen as they included details about how the stage looked, and drew many of their friends on stage. Older keiki 1st thru 6th graders drew self portraits (on their own accord) with very few details about stage and surroundings. INTERESTING!!!!
フードフェア後の月曜のフラレッスンではケイキに感想を聞きました。彼女達に思い出の絵を書いてもらい、とても興味深い絵を見ることができました。彼女のかなにはとても複雑なステージの絵を書いた幼稚園児の子もいれば、1年生から6年生は自分の踊る姿を書いたものが大半でした。
