最近二つのイベントでフラを踊る機会がありましたので、ご紹介いたします。
Recently, I had a chance to dance hula two events as follows.
１） 4月21日（土）、西馬込で「ビタミンフェスタ」というイベントが開催されました。セラピストやボディワーカーを応援するためのものでしたが、イベントの途中にショータイムがあり、私は厚木チームの奈美ちゃんに協力を願い、二人で「①アオヤ・②クーレイアワプイ・③レイハリア」の３曲を踊りました。ス テージは緞帳のついた本格的なもので私は緊張しましたが、最後には大きな拍手をいた だき楽しく踊れました。フラの次はベリーダンスで、ショーの後でベリーダンサーの皆さんと 写真を撮ったりもしてとても楽しい一日でした（写真は楽屋で撮ったものです）。
On April 21, 2007 (Sat), there was an event called 'Vitamin Festa' which was to support therapists and body workers in Tokyo. It was held at Nishimagome. Nami from Atsugi and I had a chance to dance hula. We danced three songs; `A Oia', `Ku'u lei awapuhi' and `Lei halia'. That event had a proper thick stage curtain and I was a bit nervous to go out on stage, but in the end, I felt so good. Everyone gave us big applause. After our short hula show was a belly-dance performance. Nami and I had a chance to take pictures with the bellydancers! W enjoyed this event very much. ２） 6月23日(土）にデイケアセンター「陽だまり」で開かれた、コカリナ（東ヨーロッパ、ハンガリーで生まれた「木でできたオカリナ」と呼ばれていた 楽器）グループの皆さんとのジョイントコンサートに参加させてをさせて いただきました。コカリナの皆さんが「上を向いて歩こう ・テネシーワルツ・幸せなら手をたたこう」など９曲を演奏する途中、私は「グリーンローズフラ・
涙そうそう・カロケ」の3曲を披露しました。まず始めにウリウリを参加者の方々にご紹介したのですが、皆さん「おぉ～」
と驚かれていました。2曲目の日本語の「涙そうそう」は、最初の部分の踊りを参加者の方々にご紹介し、何度か練習をして一緒に踊りました。どの曲も皆さん本当に真剣に見てくださり、心温まるコンサートでした。コンサートが終わった後、「また来てね」と笑顔で手をふって帰られる方もいらっしゃり、感無量です。
On June 23, 2007 (Sat), I performed at a retirement home with a KOKARINA group.(kokarina is an instrument from East Europe; Hungaryand used to be called wooden ocarina). The concert was at a day-care center for eldery
people. I was lucky to have a chance to join it. The Kolarina group played 9 songs such as`Sukiyaki' (= `Ue o muite aruko'), `Tennessee waltz', `If you are happy, crap your hands' and more. I danced 3 hula songs; `Green rose hula',`Nada soso' and `Ka Loke'. At first I introduced and explained to the audience about Uli Uli (feather goard implement used in hula) and everyone seemed so surprised because of the sound. The song, Nada soso is in Japanese so we danced together and it was really fun! The end of the concert when they left, they said `Come again' with big smile and that made me so happy!
Mie's Hula Diary: ''Day care center''
先日埼玉のとあるデイケアセンターでウクレレ演奏とフラを踊って来ました。おじいさんやおばあさん達がとっても喜んでくれて、ボランティアとして楽しませるために参加したのに、私が逆にとっても励まされてきました。フラを通じて世代の違う人たちと楽しい時間を共有できたことがとても嬉しかったです。
I performed at a Daycare Center in Saitama as a Volunteer. I played ukulele and danced Hula for the elderly people, and they were very pleased. I thought I would have to try hard to amuse people but I oppositely-- everyone was very encouraging and alert! It was very glad to be able to share a happy time with a diffrent generation of people through Hula.
